A Tribute To The Heroes of 9/11: People and Pups
Today marks the 20th Anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks, a catastrophic strike on our country that resulted in the loss of nearly 3,000 people in a matter of hours. Those lost on that day have been dearly missed, loved, and revered every day since.
Today, CLAWGUARD is proud to honor and pay tribute not only to the people that were lost twenty years ago but to those that responded to the attack and the rescue dogs that helped.
Within hours of the Sept. 11 attacks, thousands of rescue workers from across America deployed to Ground Zero to help in the search and rescue efforts. Joining the endeavor, were dogs specially trained in search and rescue, police work, and comfort.
Search and rescue dogs (SAR) specialize in disaster response skills. Trained to search and detect the scent of humans, their hopeful mission was to find survivors buried in the rubble.
The service of the 300 animals that stepped forward provided love and hope to survivors, volunteers, firefighters, and police officers who spent days and weeks searching the wreckage. Even twenty years later, surviving first responders claim that, at times, the rescue dogs that were on site were "the only thing helping us get through the day."
CLAWGUARD is proud to make products that help support pets and their families, focusing on less damage and more love. Today, we simply say, thank you.
