Charlotte, NC — CLAWGUARD, a company that makes products to protect homes from pet damage, will soon launch its Cat Training Tape, and it’s looking for the perfect cat to appear on the packaging.

The new product is a medical-grade, double-sided training tape that is safe for cats and furniture. Using it throughout the home will help deter unwanted scratch damage or jumping on furniture.

To coincide with the product’s launch, CLAWGUARD is looking for a cat to feature on the packaging. The Cat Training Tape will be sold in stores across the country and online, making this an exciting opportunity for cat lovers.

CLAWGUARD designed the Cat Training Tape with two goals in the mind: First, the company wanted to help cat owners protect and maintain the beauty of their homes. Second, it wanted to provide a viable alternative to the harmful procedure of declawing, which some cat owners turn to when looking for a solution to home damage.

That’s been of particular concern now, as the COVID-19 pandemic has led to an increase in cat adoptions. At the same time, that has also created an increased potential for pet damage, with cats scratching and clawing surfaces throughout the home.

CLAWGUARD wanted to do its part to give pet owners another choice.

“As a first-line approach to influence behavior, we hope cat parents will consider CLAWGUARD Cat Training Tape as an alternative to declawing,” Kevin Dixon, founder and CEO of CLAWGUARD, said in a statement. “We at CLAWGUARD do not support declawing and hope our products will help enhance the relationship between pets and pet parents.”
